1998 Hyundai Sonata used
The Hyundai Sonata remained unchanged for 1998 carrying over the mechanical and
comfort features of earlier models. There were two engine configurations available
for the Hyundai Sonata, one for each trim level. The base Sonata is fitted with
a dual-overhead-cam 2.0-liter 4-cylinder while the GLS takes the 3.0 liter V6
engine. Transmission choice is between the 5-speed manual and the 4-speed automatic.
It also retains the physical changes undertaken by the 1997 Hyundai Sonata, redesigned
front and rear body panels, restructured tail lamps and a new rounded vertical-bar
grille. The split folding backseat that was first introduced in 1996 was also
adapted by the 1998 model.

The seat made for a larger space when one is needed. A used car buyer would be
wise to consider all these facts before making his shopping list. A used car is
not what it now is, it was once brand new and most probably had most of the features
mentioned in brand new car reviews. So, in order to get a better picture of what
you should be getting when shopping for a used car you have to have a good idea
of what the used car was as a new one. With all the relevant information in your
back pocket, you can now proceed to take stock of the options available for you.
Take note of the possible accessories added by the previous owner; that may or
may not cost you a dime or two. Also, most important is the number of miles the
sedan has racked up and of course its present condition.
